Rango Tango, as we call him has been our foster dog for about 3 weeks now. He's doing real well and could probably move on anytime now. I think he'd be best with a experienced dachshund owner. We think he was abused where ever he started out because of the way he cringes if he thinks he's in trouble, even when there is no reason. I think eventually he will get over this the way our Peaches got over being a scaredy cat. He is real sweet and lookin for love. We hope the right person comes along.

I just washed my hair and can't do a thing with it
Miss Peaches is a wire haired dachshund and being one has to deal with the beauty hazards of the wire hair. Here in NY winter is upon us, it hasn't been real severe ( although stinking cold last week) we've had a little snow here and there. This past Saturday we went to "the Farm" where I can let everyone run free but Rango the foster dog. Anyway they have a blast running around at high speed and its a big sniff-o-rama. Peachy disappeared under an old dump truck she had obviously been digging and her whole underside was muddy and stuck with old leaves and sticks. When we got home all the other dogs got a quick wipe down and I let them in. Miss Peachy after having the sticks and what not pulled out of her fur got carried in to the laundry room for a bath as you see her afterward waiting to be dried off. Sunday we went for a hike in the woods, she needed a quick wash after that too, not quite so much dirt but its the curly fur that not only attracts twigs and dirt but works like Velcro to hold onto it. Good thing she's coopertive in the tub.
